Fordite Lapel Pins
Limited Edition Fordite Lapel Pins
What is Fordite?
Fordite, also know as Detroit Agate, is a material made up of layers of automotive paint. During the assembly process, cars would be hand sprayed then baked. This paint would buildup on the racks that carried the cars and had to be chipped off every so often. Automotive workers realized the beauty of the material and began making jewelry, and that's how Fordite was born. Fordite is a rare material as vehicles are not painted in the same way they used to be.

I have always loved the look of and story behind fordite. When I saw that Dapper Woodworks were selling lapels pins made of fordite, I purchased one immediately. The colors go with multiple outfits, so I can wear it with multiple sport coats and suits. My co-worker is a “car guy” and was very interested in this pin as well. This is the favorite pin in my collection. Justin has great communication and always answers my questions in a timely manner. Support this company with a purchase. You won’t regret it!
