Fordite Lapel Pins Seconds
Limited Edition Fordite Lapel Pins
What is Fordite?
Fordite, also know as Detroit Agate, is a material made up of layers of automotive paint. During the assembly process, cars would be hand sprayed then baked. This paint would buildup on the racks that carried the cars and had to be chipped off every so often. Automotive workers realized the beauty of the material and began making jewelry, and that's how Fordite was born. Fordite is a rare material as vehicles are not painted in the same way they used to be. These pins are made from genuine Corvette Fordite which is distinct from other types of Fordite because of the bright colors of Corvette paint.
Seconds are lapel pins pins that didn't make the initial cut. Fordite is a fragile material so each of these have small imperfections detailed below. Nonetheless, these are still beautiful lapel pins!
